Poverty Bay Mixed Secondary Schools Hockey season starts on Monday 8 May 2017

• Player registrations are due by Friday 2 June (a link will be sent out to contacts once all registrations are received)
The playing days are ‘to be confirmed’ as we will need to know how many teams there are first before we can set them. If we get more teams than 2017 then we may have to play a grade over two days. The outlined days below are based on last year and if the same amount of teams enter then we will play those days.
The Winter season timeframe for all grades (except Fun Sticks) will run from 8th May to 1st September, this equates to 15 weeks. This is to allow for weather cancellations and also other postponements due to tournaments that are being hosted by PBH. Finals dates will be set once teams have entered and a draw is completed. Fun Sticks will run for 10 weeks from Saturday 20th May.

2017 format: 30 minutes each way with a five minute half-time. Points will be allocated as follows: 3 points for a win; 1 point for a draw; 0 points for a loss. There will be two divisions; Div I will be made up of 1st XI teams while Div II will have Mixed teams. The competition this year will be monitored to see that we are offering a format that is balanced and competitive, as well as providing a social aspect for those that are non-competitive. Player registrations for each team will need to be completed by Friday 2 June. A link will be sent to the team contact at a later date. The information you will need for this is name, age, M/F, school, iwi affiliation, parent/caregiver's email.
